What this paper is about
This is a media production paper and provides an opportunity for students to develop and carry out a small scale creative media project with relative independence. Students will work closely with their lecturer to develop original creative content as a multi-platform experience. The paper aims to combine art and creative industries best practice, offering hands on experience and insight into a number of creative industries scenarios and practices as well as an introduction to media arts exhibition strategies and formats.
Students will work with a chosen community based/related topic for their media projects. Students will have the option of choosing and working with one or combined mediums such as photography, video, graphic design, sound, podcasting, AV installation and projections, publication, animation, VR and others. The chosen topic and medium will demand extensive research as foundation for the development of an iterative creative practice and consequently the execution of chosen media project.
Final outputs will be part of a group exhibition showcasing undergraduate and graduate student work at the end of Trimester A, more details on this will be discussed in class during the trimester. Students will be marked on the technical and conceptual level of the work, from project proposal, development, iterative process, output and exhibition.
